Architectural
The ceiling of Innsbruck Airport consists of many sheet metal panels that are barely wider than 55 mm. In order to install a standard-sized housing for emergency signs, this was clearly too small for the built-in electronics. The special thing about this project was the solution for installing the electronics. To this end, holes were drilled in the sheet metal ceiling into which the electronics could be integrated while remaining invisible from the outside. The STRING emergency sign with cable suspension became an attractive and safe solution for all travellers and employees.
Revitalisation
Our challenge was to develop suitable safety luminaires that can be used both in continuous operation and in emergencies and can be integrated in the same housing as the general luminaire.
Revitalisation
In order to avoid costly conversions, the new emergency lighting was to be integrated into the existing housing of the existing luminaires. In addition, the escape sign had to be rotatable and available in different colours and lengths so that it could be suspended from the ceiling slats of different heights.
