Tips and tricks for your application to us

Things to know about the application process

We’re glad that you’re interested in us. A transparent application process is very important to us, which is why we’re giving you an insight into our process.

Your application will be handled at all points of contact by the HR department: whether it’s by e-mail, by telephone or in person during the 1st meeting or on the taster day at our company.

Are you interested in how to get your job in 5 steps or do you wish to get fast answers to frequently asked questions about applying? Then you’ve come to the right place.

Our application process - the 5 steps to your job

We’ll give you detailed information about our din application process so that you know what to expect.

Step 1

Application

It’s your choice

Online application or by e-mail

You’re free to decide whether you’d like to apply to us online or by e-mail for an advertised job or speculatively. The online application is complete in just a few clicks without having to create a profile. No matter what you’ve chosen, one thing’s for certain: as soon as we’ve received your application, you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail.

Step 2

Pre-selection

Initial selection

We’ll look at all of the applications we have received.

After we have received the first applications, we’ll do the initial selection. If we need additional documents or information, we’ll get in touch with you. Depending on the position, we may also perform short telephone interviews.

Step 3

1st meeting

Congratulations!

You’re in the first round!

You made it to the first round and we’re looking forward to getting to know you in person.
The 1st meeting takes place with a person responsible from the HR department and your future manager, and we’ll take plenty of time for you. Use this meeting to show us who you are and what your passion is. We’ll also be happy to discuss any questions you may have.

Step 4

Taster day

Welcome to the 2nd round!

You made it one step further.

The aim of this taster day is to get an insight into your future duties, the team and the company structure. Ask all of the questions that you would still like answers to in order to be able to make a clear decision for yourself. You normally have the opportunity for this during the joint feedback meeting with the person responsible from the HR department and your manager.
But don’t worry, there’s always still time for a pleasant chat and one or two coffees.

Step 5

Acceptance and onboarding

Hooray! You made it!

Welcome to din!

We’re delighted that we can now tread the din path together with you!
We’re here to help even before you start: we’ll organise a joint contract meeting with you and inform you of the next steps. You don’t need to do anything. We’ll sort it all out for you and draw up your individual onboarding programme that is tailored to you.

The HR team

We’ll take care of your application.

Frequently asked questions regarding applications

Do you have any questions about your application? You’re not alone! We’ve listed some frequently asked questions here for you.

Where can I find current job offers at din?

The departments that are currently looking for staff are listed in Current job offers.

Can I apply for several jobs?

Yes, you can apply for several jobs.
To do this, select the other job under “Open positions” in the online application or e-mail us to let us know which other job interests you. However, make sure you are clear about which job you have the competencies for and can bring the most passion.

What can I do if there is not currently a suitable job advertised?

You always have the option of applying to us speculatively (using our “Speculative application” online portal or by e-mail). Let us know the area in which you would like to support us.

Is the advertised job offer still current?

We aim to keep our jobs current. If a job is still published, you can assume that the position is still free.

How do I apply to din?

It’s your choice whether you apply online or by e-mail to bewerbung@din-notlicht.at.
Regardless of the method you choose, you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail and therefore know that we have received your documents.

How secure are my applications?

We will handle your application documents confidentially and in accordance with data protection regulations.

Which documents are required?

Your application should include an impactful CV, a covering letter, the most important training qualifications and relevant recommendations. Let us know which job interests you and how you found out about us.

When will I receive a response to my application?

We aim to ensure that you do not have to wait too long and to get in touch with you quickly.
But we are only people. In the event of internal clarifications or during holiday time, it may take a while longer.
PS: You’re welcome to contact us if you want to find out the status of your application.

I have more questions about my application. How can I contact you?

You’re welcome to send us your questions by e-mail to bewerbung@din-notlicht.at or to contact us via LinkedIn.

Is there a telephone interview in advance?

Depending on the job, we sometimes perform short telephone interviews. We use this short phone call to get to know you better in a few minutes and to answer any questions you may have about the application in advance.

What can I expect at the 1st meeting?

Don’t expect the classic grilling, but rather a pleasant introductory conversation together with the persona responsible from the HR department and your future manager. We’ll take plenty of time for this meeting and want to use it to get to know the person behind the application, and to give you more information about the job and the company.

Does the introductory conversation take place on-site or by phone?

We prefer a personal introductory conversation in our office but we will take you and your wishes into account.

Is there a dress code?

No, our motto is: “Come as you are” – come to us however you feel comfortable or in a way that’s best suited to the job in your opinion!

How can I prepare for the taster day?

The best way to prepare for the taster day is to note the most important points that you wish to discuss actively or any queries you may still have. However, we will plan the taster day for you so that you can get as many impressions as possible.

I’ve been accepted. What do I have to do now?

Congratulations! We’re looking forward to seeing you and will contact you about the next steps.

Can I also apply if I already work for the company?

We like it when our dinIANS want to develop further. If you’re interested in a different department, take the opportunity to talk to your manager or the HR department about your wishes. However, you’re also free to use our classic application process.

What can I expect on the 1st day?

…a relaxed arrival and an organised 1st day.
You’ll receive your own personal plan for the remaining training period.
You’ll always meet your close colleagues and the HR team, and spend your induction with other employees who are also new.
So there’s no reason to be scared of the first day. 😉

How does the initial period at din work? Am I on my own straight away?

We’re not fans of leaving people alone in their new job.
Our detailed onboarding plan therefore makes joining the company easier. All new colleagues don’t just get an impression of their own area of responsibility, but also of other departments. This ensures a better understanding of all processes and the best possible view of the big picture. Your buddy will also support you from day 1 – you can ask them any questions at any time.
At our annual din day, you will get to know other new dinIANS and get further impressions of the company.
