Architectural, Increased requirements
In schools in particular, gymnasiums are often fitted with ball-proof equipment to prevent damage from flying balls and to protect the facilities.
When equipping this school in the Ländle region, the architect clearly wanted to design an emergency sign that was both ball-proof and attractive.
A STRING ARC emergency sign luminaire was installed with a Plexiglas cover, flush with the wall and rimless to prevent balls from being thrown. The approval and implementation of the project proved to be time-consuming, as the sampling went through several instances before it could finally be approved and realised. Since then, nobody in this gymnasium has had to worry about damaging anything in the event of a sharp shot – at least not the emergency lighting.
Not emergency light
The solution was an escape sign disc with rope suspension, which is mounted above the checkout. This gives customers a clear indication of whether the checkout is currently occupied.
Architectural
After the shopping centre was completed, it became apparent that, despite careful planning, the existing emergency lighting was not sufficient to ensure adequate safety when there were large numbers of visitors.
