Modern architecture is often associated with special technical building requirements. This was also the case with a building in the Paznaun Valley, where floor-to-ceiling doors round off the interior design. Unfortunately, there was not much space left between the door and the ceiling. However, in accordance with the standards, an emergency sign must be attached to every door.
There was simply not enough space for a size 1 emergency sign with dimensions x and a recognition range of 10 metres. The STRING 1 emergency sign was therefore reduced to a height of 50 mm. It is important to ensure that the signage is clear and unambiguous to enable effective orientation in an emergency. This is still the case even with this small pictogram size and it was possible to implement it in compliance with the standard. Thanks to the special size of our STRING with transparent frame, a visually appealing and standard-compliant solution was found.
Architectural
The architect's clear ideas allowed for an elegant solution: the escape sign and safety luminaires were integrated into a single aluminium housing and mounted on the column to match its size.
Increased requirements
When equipping a school in the Ländle region, the architect had expressed the clear wish to design an escape sign in such a way that it was not only ball-proof but also looked elegant.
