Monument protection
The historic staircase of the castle is a real gem and is under special protection. Structural changes to the banisters were therefore not permitted. Nevertheless, emergency lighting up to the assembly point was required by law. The circumstances therefore not only required careful planning, but ultimately also the approval of the authorities and the heritage office.
The STRING ARC emergency sign luminaire was installed flush into an existing column (free-standing, monolithic pillar). A locksmith provided the necessary opening and we attached the lighting to the pillar with magnetic strips. Despite the limited space, we found enough room behind the stele for the necessary electronics. The result was the perfect solution for the staircase in the castle, which retains the historical charm without having to make any changes to the banisters.
Revitalisation
Our challenge was to develop suitable safety luminaires that can be used both in continuous operation and in emergencies and can be integrated in the same housing as the general luminaire.
Increased requirements
The fermentation gas can attack and corrode metals such as copper, resulting in damage to the metal components. For this reason, it was necessary to protect the emergency light, in particular the light source and the associated electronics, and to develop an appropriate solution.
