Safety light in patinated housing
For historical reasons, the existing luminaire housing could not be removed and adapted for this project. It was also not permitted to drill any additional holes.

Invisible warning system to prevent panic in the event of a fire
A special gas extinguishing system was installed in a server room to smother the fire in the event of a fire. A water sprinkler system could have destroyed the entire data centre, so Energen gas was used. In the event of a fire being detected, it is important to inform people that the extinguishing system is in operation and that they are not allowed to enter the room. To avoid panic, a black screen was chosen for the warning sign, which is controlled by the in-house fire alarm centre and is invisible when switched off. In addition, a black filter on the front of our converted STRING 2 ensures that the engraved lettering remains illegible when it is switched off.

Protection of emergency luminaires against corrosion
The fermentation gas can attack and corrode metals such as copper, resulting in damage to the metal components. For this reason, it was necessary to protect the emergency light, in particular the light source and the associated electronics, and to develop an appropriate solution.
