Protection of emergency luminaires against corrosion

The challenge

To give the cheese its flavour, various additives are added during production. This produces various gases during the fermentation process, such as hydrogen sulphide. This gas can attack and corrode metals such as copper, resulting in damage to the metal components. For this reason, it was necessary to protect the emergency luminaire, in particular the light source and the associated electronics, and to develop an appropriate solution.

The solution

Due to the gases released, the emergency lighting electronics were impregnated with a special nano-coating to protect them from corrosion. In addition, the light source of the emergency luminaire was sealed to ensure safe operation even under the most challenging conditions in the dairy. This created a customised solution that meets the specific requirements of this environment. This special solution was also the basis for us to include standardised solutions for environments with increased requirements in our range.
