The modern museum for contemporary art

Kistefos Museum, Norway

The new museum building opened in September 2019 and is one of Europe’s most important sculpture parks for contemporary art. The special feature of the 1.000m2 building is a “twist” that curves the space. This bend connects the open gallery with the darkened gallery, making the building itself a work of art.

Aesthetics in the foreground

In this project, the demands on aesthetics were very high, so the decision was made to use invisible emergency lighting. The STRING INvisible luminous panel integrates itself almost invisibly into this sophisticated architectural concept, whilst still conforming with standards. In an emergency, functionality reliably comes to the fore guaranteeing targeted escape route lighting.

STRING INvisible

To put the architecture in the foreground, emergency lighting should be invisible. STRING 1 INvisible and STRING 2 INvisible escape route luminaires with ultra-slim frames are the perfect solution for architecturally demanding buildings.
