Living in the park

Residential neighbourhood Harter Plateau, Leonding

The two – in the 70’s rapidly built – houses on the Harter Plateau had a bad reputation as a problem area of Leonding for a long time. The problematic architecture and the lack of green space led to social tensions between the tenants. In April 2003, the two skyscrapers were demolished to create space for a modern residential building.

A total of 356 new apartments with underground parking and excellent infrastructure were built. The high-quality reconstruction of the Harter Plateau has given the entire area a significant boost. The central eye-catcher is the 10-storey-tower at the Meixner junction

Emergency lighting reduced to the essentials

In keeping with the transformation of Leonding’s most populous district from a former problem area to a high-quality residential quarter, the emphasis was also placed on quality and easy maintenance of emergency lighting. The focus was on standards conformity and function, attention was made to using luminaires in the underground car park for harsh conditions such as humidity and low temperatures. The staircases were fitted with luminaires serving as escape signs and emergency luminaires.
