Safety light in patinated housing
For historical reasons, the existing luminaire housing could not be removed and adapted for this project. It was also not permitted to drill any additional holes.
Technology
Exceptional architecture requires an equally exceptional solution for emergency lighting. In a cinema in Innsbruck, a ceiling-high column is installed in the middle of the lobby, connecting the floors with an elegant spiral ramp. The spiral ramp was already optimally illuminated by the existing light source, but due to the heavy public traffic, additional safety lighting was required to comply with legal regulations. In order to ensure adequate lighting without over-illuminating the space, some of the existing general luminaires were to be replaced with emergency luminaires.
Our EYE-90 emergency luminaires in silver were used for this project. Their small size makes the EYE-90 the perfect emergency luminaire for unobtrusive integration and efficient illumination of the surroundings. A custom-made 3D housing for the almost invisible recessed spotlight also made installation easier – it was not even necessary to intervene in the concrete foundation of the wall. This made it possible to create a balanced atmosphere that ensures both safety and aesthetics.
