Between the past and the present

Fort Kniepass

The former border post ‘Chniepoz’ dates back to the 14th century and was converted into a fortress in 1621 under Archbishop Paris Lodron. As the region was spared from military conflict, the historic buildings have been largely preserved to this day. Following a period of disrepair, the site was revitalised as Fort Kniepass and developed into a new, publicly accessible visitor attraction. The various experience, exhibition and event areas require individual emergency lighting solutions. To this end, a versatile emergency lighting concept was implemented, combining different luminaire types from the din product portfolio. In addition to various solutions from the BASIC and STRING product families, as well as outdoor luminaires and spotlights, a special customised solution was also used in the exhibition area.

Individual solutions for specific requirements

Due to the limited capacity of the historic exhibition space, access must be reliably regulated once the maximum number of visitors has been reached. A custom-designed FSU luminaire with red-green signalling clearly indicates to visitors whether entry is permitted. As experts in emergency lighting, we also develop bespoke solutions if standard solutions reach their limits.
