Not emergency light
At the private clinic in Graz, great importance was attached to maximum safety. An innovative signalling system was therefore installed for the laser and X-ray rooms. If there are people in the room, a clearly visible sign with the words “Caution radiation” appears in front of the entrance. This sign warns everyone not to actively use the laser indoors. The function of the sign is particularly well thought out when there are no people in the room: in this case, the inscription is automatically made invisible and the sign is illuminated in black. An interesting challenge was to modify the STRING disc in size 2 and prepare it for illumination with special laser technologies.
This solution ensures that the warning is only visible when there is actually a potential danger, thus contributing to the clear and effective communication of safety information.
Revitalisation
In order to avoid costly conversions, the new emergency lighting was to be integrated into the existing housing of the existing luminaires. In addition, the escape sign had to be rotatable and available in different colours and lengths so that it could be suspended from the ceiling slats of different heights.
