Deutscher Alpenverein
The Deutsche Alpenverein (DAV) as founded in 1869 and is an independent association for mountain sports and nature conservation. With more than 350 independent sections and over 1.4 million members, the DAV manages numerous huts, climbing facilities and hiking trails, including the “Alpine Museum” in Munich. More than 30,000 volunteers are actively involved in finding solutions that take into account both the interests of mountain sports and the requirements of nature and the landscape.
The DAV Federal Office in Munich manages the association’s activities in accordance with presidium guidelines and association council plans. It is located in the Parkstadt Schwabing and includes the House of Alpinism and the JDAV youth training centre in Bad Hindelang.
Shapely STRING escape sign luminaires with their surrounding transparent glass edge are integrated to match the large and numerous glass fronts of the building. The combination with inconspicuously integrated emergency luminaires enables improved illumination and orientation.
