From Europe to the whole world – EGGER thinks globally and acts locally. The decisive factor for the family business based in St. Johann in Tyrol is the proximity to the customer and the raw materials. Therefore they are represented in 7 European countries with 17 plants.
The sustainability idea of the company, which was founded in 1961, also manifests itself in the newly constructed headquarter and high-bay warehouse. For this reason an energy-saving emergency lighting system from an Austrian company with a local support staff was selected for the new building made of solid wood.

The particularity of the project was the required precision during planning. Due to the solid wood construction, all luminaires had to be precisely positioned in advance. The cut-outs for the luminaire were already taken into account during the production of the building with the aid of a milling machine – no mistake was forgiven. For example, the surface-mounted version of the STRING luminaire was planned and designed as a recessed unit, so that the LED escape sign luminaire disappears completely in the wooden ceiling.
