Sustainable timberwork - office building in wood hybrid construction
With the first “Green Building” in Vorarlberg on this scale Illwerke VKW sets another milestone in sustainable building. It is currently the largest office building in timber hybrid construction.
The architects Hermann Kaufmann ZT GmbH (Schwarzach) planned the currently biggest office building in wood hybrid construction. The central office building was constructed in Vandans and opened in November 2013. The building offers 10.000m2 usable surface for 270 people and has a visitor’s center and a canteen.
The “hydropower-competence center-Montafon“ does not only attach importance to sustainability, but at the same time also has high standards regarding architecture indoors and outdoors.
In some areas there are artistic stagings, which are complimented prominently with light.
The huge architectural complex was equipped with an emergency lighting system from din-Sicherheitstechnik corresponding to the size of the building and uses safety lamps that can also be used for general lighting and corridor lighting.
