Sony Music Berlin

Sony Music underscored their presence in Berlin with a new building in 2020. The seven-storey building has its own recording studio and offers plenty of space with 8000 square metres of office space. The building is also equipped with state-of-the-art music rooms and multi-function rooms featuring the latest recording and playback technology. Thousands of artists and authors from German-speaking and international countries are catered for here.

When designing the interiors, emphasis was placed on making them look futuristic and transparent to emphasise the company’s identity . Our STRING 2 emergency lighting integrates inconspicuously into the rest of the building, especially when recessed in the ceiling, and illuminates the escape route in an emergency.

Safety in a seven-storey building

In large buildings, such as Sony Music Berlin, a quick escape is essential in an emergency. So, our CONCEPT series was used, guaranteeing safe escape with optimised lighting technology and the increased protection class of IP65 as standard. There was also a focus on the simple installation of the emergency lighting for this demanding building. CONCEPT 2 is an all-rounder – a luminaire that saves time when time is scarce thanks to the quick assembly kit and tool-free final installation. It can also be used flexibly due to its modular design, which minimises installation errors.
