Vezenine Bled Generation Centre
The Vezenine Bled Generation Centre is a meeting place for young and old with multiple uses. The building is equipped with a training room, several lounges and a public library connected to a reading room and a terrace.
The façade was based on the former embroidery factory in order to preserve this important part of the history of the place. There is also a permanent exhibition of embroidery on the ground floor. Furthermore, the multi-purpose hall in the building can be used either for events or – by dividing it into several small rooms – also for workshops and seminars.
The building was designed to be sustainable and energy-efficient. A large part of both the exterior façade and the interior is made of wood. So, care was also taken when selecting the emergency and safety lighting to ensure that it matched the building. In everyday use, the TUBE-264 emergency luminaires almost disappear into the slatted wooden ceiling. The housing of the BASIC 2 escape signs was realised in black to match the colour of the general lighting and create a harmonious overall appearance.
