H.E.L.P. Blue light center in Ischgl

The new H.E.L.P. centre sets new safety standards. Meanwhile, millions of people flock to the village of Ischgl every year during the summer and ski season.
As the number of visitors increases, so do the safety requirements. In order to create more space, construction of the new security centre began in May 2017 and the old fire station was torn down. An innovative project, from the finding of the name H.E.L.P. (Hilfs- & Einsatz-LeitPosten, in English auxiliaries & mission control center) to the architectural highlights. The employees, all of whom work on a voluntary basis, should be offered state of the art conditions in order to increase motivation and solidarity.

The Ventria architects were able to win the architecture competition and set themselves the goals of minimizing tripping hazards, simplifying maintenance and create open areas. In a central location, a five story building with around 12,000 m3 of enclosed space and a usable area of 2,900 m2 was constructed within six months. This creates space for 3 “HELP”-organizations: the emergency medical services, the mountain rescue and the fire brigade. Storage rooms were also made available for the care association.
