Safety at any altitude
The Alpenstern Hotel in Damüls in the Bregenz forest is located at an altitude of 1600 m – this means increased requirements for emergency and safety lighting. Our SHAPE outdoor light with IP65 protection is suitable for temperatures from -20 to +40 degrees and therefore also for ski resorts at higher altitudes. They illuminate the side exits and thus the safe escape route in the outdoor area. Our black spotlights at the main entrance round off the overall picture and discreetly illuminate the entrance.
The STRING escape sign luminaires in the interior are ideal for timber construction thanks to the plain glass frame. The wire suspension and the wood-clad housing additionally round off the overall appearance and ensure discrete integration of the luminaire into the building.
Due to the special slope of the building, a special fire protection concept was necessary. The escape staircase does not lead directly into the open air, but first through a tunnel, making additional protective measures necessary. A safe and standard-compliant solution was developed in close cooperation with the fire protection office.
Our FSU luminaire with barrier cross function makes it possible to temporarily bar the escape route via the tunnel to ensure escape via the restaurant. The flashing function of the escape sign luminaire draws additional attention. This dynamic FSU system is controlled via the fire alarm system and in the event of a hazardous situation in the escape tunnel, the rescue signs indicate the barred escape route.

Blocking escape routes with FSU
In some cases, escape routes may be temporarily unusable due to hazardous situations, construction work or changes in the use of the building. Blocked emergency exits must be safely marked so that the correct escape route is used immediately in an emergency.
