Silz Kindergarten

The building, newly constructed in 2020, is made entirely of wood except for the floor slab and screed. In addition, the roof of the building was greened to perfectly round off the modern overall concept. The educators were involved in the building concept from the beginning and were able to combine different pedagogical styles in it. Flexible room use is possible on the upper floor to enable the children to have a varied and active day.

The high-quality STRING 2 luminaires match the modern design of the building while ensuring safety in the event of an emergency. For this project, din-Sicherheitstechnik designed and installed a custom-made solution . The wire suspension of the emergency luminaires and the integrated light emission optimise the illumination. In addition, the housings and frames were finished in black to complete the overall high-quality architectural concept.

Increased safety through acoustic and visual signals

The proximity of the fire brigade and the crossing of the emergency services road on the way from the car park to the Silz kindergarten made additional safety measures necessary. During drop-off and pick-up times, the FSU emergency lighting system detects when there is a fire service deployment and activates the targeted escape routing. The module installed in the emergency lighting system receives the signal from the pagers during a deployment and thus activates the “increased safety requirements” scenario.

In the entrance area, acoustic and visual signals are combined to match the modern design of the building. A screen displays a warning symbol and “Fire emergency”, a ceiling spotlight flashes red and a loudspeaker calls for caution when leaving the building. With these measures, the maximum precautions for safety are ensured and the fire brigade can quickly drive to the appropriate scene without having to worry about the children.
